Lawyers with Heart in 2011
Legal Aid ‘Lawyers with Heart’ event raises record amount for their child abuse prevention program.
Legal Aid of Sonoma County’s annual Lawyers With Heart musical extravaganza was sold out for
the fourth straight year, despite moving to a larger venue, as the legal community showed off
their musical talents and enjoyed fine local food, wine, and beer. Live and silent auctions, as
well as wine and dessert tastings, added to the festivities.
Held on February 4, 2011 at the Mary Agatha Furth Center in Windsor, the 9th annual fundraiser saw
appreciable increases in both attendance and donations to benefit Legal Aid of Sonoma County. Attendees
included 20 members of the bench, representatives from top local banks, attorneys and others. This was
the most successful Lawyers with Heart to date---proceeds exceeding last year by 30% despite the
economy and attendees raised over $50k for Legal Aid’s Child Abuse Prevention services.
Rocking the house, along with favorites Judge Jimmy (Bertoli) and the Jailhouse Six, Trish Nugent
and the Featherettes, and Chris Andrian & Pro Hac Vice (featuring very special guests Greg Anton from
Zero and Chris Hayes from Huey Lewis and the News), were Bart Scott and the Opening Briefs, Gary Weiner
and Friends, and the Lawyers With Heart Orchestra.
A check for $10,000.00 was presented to Legal Aid of Sonoma County by the California Bar Foundation.
